Before moving to Boston, Sarah lived in Hartford, CT, the daughter of two great parents and affectionate sister to one of her best friends, David. She is an old soul who loves embroidery, baking, cats, card games, books, singing, coffee and the occasional half-marathon or long-distance biking trip. Sarah’s mental health is like the monster under the bed – there were times when everything was dark and lonely and the monster haunted her, and then there were times when she had the courage to look under the bed. As she grows, it becomes easier to look under the bed. These days, Sarah is conducting research at the VA focused on the neurogenetics of PTSD, volunteering with various organizations to help survivors in the community, speaking out about mental health advocacy on stage and in film, and preparing to apply to medical school and continue her passion for neuroscience. Sarah would like to thank all of her friends and family for supporting her throughout her life.
