Richard D. Whitecar enjoys trading stocks, substituting in elementary schools, traveling, sitting on the beach, and laughing as much as he can. But most importantly, he cherishes spending time with his wife, Cathy. Richard was diagnosed as being bipolar over 40 years ago. He is open about the fact that mental illness has shaped his entire adult life. This cast member hopes that his story of hard work and recovery will encourage the audience to move beyond any shame associated with being mentally ill, and to never give up.
