Neesa Sunar is a mental health peer specialist who shares her lived experience with mental illness to help empower others. She studied viola performance at the conservatory at Indiana University, and now attends Hunter College in pursuit of a Master’s in Social Work. Neesa has written essays on her mental illness experience that have been published on a variety of websites, including Tonic by VICE, The Establishment, Ravishly and The Huffington post. She is the author of a volume of poetry, entitled “Memories of Psychosis: Poems on the Mental Illness Experience.”
