Joshua Britt grew up in Beaumont, TX and I am 38 years old. He received his PhD in behavioral neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied nerve repair and regeneration following traumatic injury. Josh is also a musician, and he released his album “Miles Away” (found on Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, etc.) while working as a graduate student. Josh will be sharing his experience overcoming heroin addiction and bipolar II disorder. Now over 2 years in recovery, Josh hope to marry his education and creativity with his experience as an addict to be an advocate for change regarding the problems we face as a society in both addiction and the criminal justice system.
