Jillian Rouse shares her poem “Bipolar Hope”

Jillian Rouse is a Youngstown, Ohio native. She currently attends Franklin University where she is studying psychology. Although she has not figured out what she wants to do for a career, she knows it involves mental health, helping to break the stigma, and helping others. Since the age of 12, she has been fighting a battle with her mental health and has struggled with what was thought to be depression and anxiety alone. During her battle, she had to fight her way through suicidal attempts and ideations. It wasn’t until recently, she learned her true diagnosis of Bipolar II Disorder. “In a time where I should have been afraid, I had nothing but hope.” Please follow her journey on Instagram @jillianelizabethleigh
