Heather Asbury shares “Don’t Forget It”

Heather Asbury was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland.  She comes from a large extended family to whom she is very close with. Her family is very supportive and loving and they all get along very well.  Heather’s mental illness affected her relationships with family and friends. It effected her mood, my behaviors, work and school. It lead her down a dark path and she began using substances to self medicate, which in the end, only made her mental health worse. Through the process of recovery, Heather has gained great relationships with her friends and family, a job that she loves, and self confidence. She hopes that people who hear her story, and the stories of others, take away hope and love.

Heather Asbury shares her story in the This Is My Brave Arlington 2018 show.
