Barb Barton performs “Sanctuary”

Barb Barton was born in a small town in northern Indiana but has lived most of her life in Michigan. Mental illness has been a companion since she was in high school. She believes it as caused from the verbal and physical abuse, discrimination, and gay bashing she experienced from being out as a lesbian since she was about 12 or 13 years old in the early 1970s. Barb wants others to understand that our stories could be their stories, and that we are all people who just want an easy life full of love and security.

Barb shares her story in the This Is My Brave Lansing 2018 show.
