Angela Marie Carter is an author, poet, novelist, motivational speaker, and spoken word performer. She is also a visual artist and advocate who was a 2014 Pushcart Prize nominee. Angela was also a nominee for the 2015 Virginia Library Literary Award in poetry. She has been a feature in several spoken word venues including DC’s own Bustboys and poets, and in addition to writing is a full time director of outreach in Harrisonburg, Virginia at a mental health awareness and substance abuse recovery center.
