FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 09/06/22
Leesburg, VA: Only 10 percent of college athletes seek help for mental health challenges, and during this year alone a number of high-profile NCAA student athletes lost their lives to suicide. Silence is no longer an option. Recognizing the need for college athletes to have a safe forum where they can share their thoughts and experiences, This is My Brave is hosting “Stories from the College Athlete Community” on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 8 p.m. ET.
Stories from the College Athlete Community, will shine a light on mental health stories from college athletes with a goal of inspiring, informing, offering hope, and letting other athletes know they are not alone. To reserve complimentary admission to the show, visit https://thisismybrave.org/event/college-athlete/.
This virtual event is presented by the Society of Valued Minds, a community using self-expression to live boldly with mental health conditions and an initiative of Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc.
“The time is now to change the conversation about mental health in college sports. So many student athletes excel at being leaders on the field. We at This Is My Brave are offering our platform to those athletes who are ready to be leaders off the field as well and share their story of prioritizing their mental health while also pursuing excellence in academics and sports.”
