MA Governor Proclaims August as Teen Mental Health Month
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has proclaimed August Teen Mental Health Month (TMHM) in response to a request submitted by This Is My Brave, Inc. This significant proclamation underscores the urgent need to address mental health matters among teens, particularly as they navigate the challenges and transitions associated with the start of a new school year.
TMHM was created in response to the U.S. Surgeon General’s call in 2021 call for a “whole of society” response to the mounting national teen mental health crisis and is a means to raise awareness about mental health concerns faced by teens. This year’s theme, Do What You Can, With What You’ve Got, Where You Are invites everyone to find ways to advocate for policies and practices that improve the mental health and wellness of teens.
This Is My Brave would like to thank Governor Healey for joining the TMHM movement. By issuing this proclamation, Governor Healey joins thousands nationwide committed to answering the call to prioritize teen mental health!
TMHM encourages individuals, organizations, and communities to join in raising awareness and promoting positive measures to improve mental health for teens.
