LEESBURG, VA: This GivingTuesday, This Is My Brave, Inc. a pioneering nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing authentic stories of mental health and substance use disorders, is thrilled to announce its participation in GivingTuesday, the international day of giving and generosity set to take place on November 28, 2023.

As part of this global movement, This Is My Brave joins millions of individuals and organizations worldwide in a collective effort to make a positive impact by encouraging giving, volunteerism, and acts of kindness.

This GivingTuesday, This Is My Brave aims to rally supporters and advocates from all walks of life to join in supporting its mission of empowering individuals to share their personal stories. By shedding light on the challenges and triumphs related to mental health and substance use disorders, the organization seeks to raise awareness, foster understanding, and offer hope to those who need it most.

“We are excited to participate in GivingTuesday as it aligns perfectly with our mission,” says Natasha West, Director of Marketing at This Is My Brave. “We believe that the power of storytelling is a force for change, and our commitment to sharing brave, honest stories takes center stage as we unite with the global community to inspire generosity, compassion, and positive change. Our journey has shown us that sharing personal experiences can break down barriers, create understanding, and ultimately inspire hope. By coming together on GivingTuesday, we can make a profound difference in the lives of those affected by mental health and substance use disorders.”

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

People demonstrate generosity in many ways on GivingTuesday. Whether it’s helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving to causes we care about, every act of generosity counts. GivingTuesday has raised billions of dollars for critical causes around the world and gets billions of impressions on social media from people and organizations speaking up for the causes that matter to them and encouraging others to get involved in their communities.

“GivingTuesday inspires people all around the world to embrace their power to drive progress around the causes they care about, not just on one day but throughout the year,” said Asha Curran, GivingTuesday’s CEO, and co-founder. “With country and community leaders, millions of organizations, and countless givers of all kinds, GivingTuesday is creating a shared space where we can see the radical implications of a more generous world.”

Supporters are encouraged to get involved by contributing to This Is My Brave’s GivingTuesday campaign, which aims to raise funds that will support its impactful storytelling initiatives. Donations can be made on GivingTuesday via the organization’s website, making it easy for individuals to contribute to a cause that truly matters.

This Is My Brave invites everyone to follow along with their GivingTuesday journey on social media, where they will be sharing inspiring stories, updates on their work, and ways to participate in this global movement. Join the conversation by using the hashtag #GiveBackWithBrave.
