This Is My Brave Rocked the Big Apple!

This past weekend the cast of This Is My Brave NYC took to the stage and opened their hearts to share the stories we all needed to hear. Mental illness does not define us. We may have been through dark moments, but we survived the struggle and continue to be brave so that we may be the light that others need to find so they may overcome.

The cast of This Is My Brave NYC (from L to R): Assoc. Producer Rachel Godfrey, Joe Fusaro, Katie Mack, Monique Lewis, Tom Christensen, Kathleen Frazier, Danielle Fiorello, Claudia Martinez, Liz Coaltz, Kamilah Holtz, Emily Grossman, Jenna Marotta, and Producer Lorne Jaffe.

Each story/testimony was a unique interpretation that touched my heart to new levels. Thank you for sharing with us and being Brave.

We were so grateful to Hunter College graduates Juella Baltonado and Laura Casertano who shared their musical talent with us as they performed a beautiful rendition of Brave by Sara Bareilles as the cast took the stage.

Producer Lorne Jaffe introduced the show with a glimpse into his story and why he decided to take on the challenge of bringing this show to the stage.

And then, the stories were brought into the light...

This show was the most inspirational event I have ever attended. The stories, although sad, were heartfelt and meaningful on so many levels. I am forever going to remember the brave people who entered that stage anxious and nervous and left almost an entire audience in tears of joy knowing that these people have found their “Brave” inner self in different ways.
