This past weekend the cast of This Is My Brave NYC took to the stage and opened their hearts to share the stories we all needed to hear. Mental illness does not define us. We may have been through dark moments, but we survived the struggle and continue to be brave so that we may be the light that others need to find so they may overcome.
We were so grateful to Hunter College graduates Juella Baltonado and Laura Casertano who shared their musical talent with us as they performed a beautiful rendition of Brave by Sara Bareilles as the cast took the stage.
And then, the stories were brought into the light...
A big thank you to our Depressed Cake Shop volunteers who contributed delicious baked treats for everyone to enjoy after the show!
We're hoping to upload the individual and full show videos from NYC show to our YouTube channel next month, so stay tuned!
Next up, our Los Angeles event on November 19th with Depressed Cake Shop: a west coast launch party for the new book Shades of Blue, an anthology on depression, suicide and feeling blue edited by Amy Ferris! More details coming soon!
