It's been a year since #running4brave and we have an exciting update to share!
As you may recall, after attending This Is My Brave's performance at Briar Woods High School in October of 2014, local mom Annie Powell reached out to This Is My Brave to express her gratitude for what our organization was doing for the community. She wanted to do something to help us reach more teens, and she found the perfect way to volunteer when she signed up to run her first 1/2 marathon, fundraising for This Is My Brave during her three months of training.
Annie and her #running4brave team raised over $4k for This Is My Brave, and $1k of that total is going to be given back to our local community (since this is where we are headquartered) in the form of $500 continuing education scholarships to two (2) Loudoun county high school students this spring.
