Ryan Grauberger is a singer, songwriter, writer, and actor now living in Cedar Rapids who discovered the performing arts when he was a child as a way to cope with a life of trauma and pain. This continued to be a safe escape as he dealt with the symptoms of PTSD and related disorders as an adult. In his lifetime he has performed in more than 30 musicals and plays in many different theaters and other venues In addition to his own performances, he wrote scripts for two Iowa High school large group speech teams to use in competition, wrote skits that Cornell College's Stand Tall Christian performance group used for years, and has written both an adult and a children's church play, both of which were performed by the church he attended at the time.. He also performed original music and comedy sketches in several variety shows. He worked for many years as a supply pastor (filling in for pastors all around Iowa who were sick or on vacation) and drawing upon his original songs and skits to enhance his ministry. He strayed away from this passion several years ago as he entered a more challenging period of his life due to his illness, but began returning to the stage about a year ago. In the past year he was seen in Theater Cedar Rapids’ productions of Annie and I Married A Nun, and will soon be seen in Elf, the Musical. Besides his work with the theater, he works with the YMCA Adventure Guides and the Cub Scouts. He is officially the father of four; unofficially a father to many others. He hopes you are touched by his gift of music.
