Boston has been home off and on (more on than off) since I was 6 months old. I am the mother of 4 (2 sunshines, ages 17 and 12, an angel who would be 7 and a beautiful 3-year-old rainbow.
I am a full spectrum doula with a focus on black maternal and infant mortality.
Mental illness has been a part of my life since I was 9 years old. It took many years for me to understand what mental illness really was and many more years to understand that I couldn't hide from it. Once I began to integrate it into my life and except it as a part of me that I was truly able to fully integrate.
I decided to be a part of "This Is My Brave" because it is yet another way to talk about my Spirit Baby while acknowledging that this intimate part of my life.
I am praying that by releasing my truths, I will be able to foster a release in someone else.
