Hello everyone, my name is Zacharie Hurd and I am currently a senior at Husson
University. I started music when I was about 11 or 12 and the first song I will be preforming is
called “Take a Minute”. I wrote this song when I was 13 or 14 as a way of analyzing the world
around me while living in Haiti, and my perspective at that point in time. I have specifically chosen two pieces for the This is My Brave performance to show a distinct difference between my ability to write back then and how I analyze the world now.
One depicts how I struggle with
generalizing emotional issues, while the other shows a part of me that is now able to recognize my own struggle and present it to the world. In my eyes both perspectives are valid because feelings are neither right nor wrong, they just are.
