Mitchell Clyde Thomas has been entertaining audiences in Maine and around New England for more than 40 years, beginning as a side-kick to his fiddle-playing grandfather. He is a composer of songs, having written many musicals.
For 35 years, Mitch has been a director for the Music-Theatre camps for youth at Camp Mechuwana in Winthrop, Maine and for many years he directed children's choirs at his home church. He is currently one of the Auburn (Maine) United Methodist Church's music leaders. Mitch is the choir director and organist at Calvary United Methodist Church in nearby Lewiston and served 10 years as the Music Director for the New England Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
He is very active in Lewiston-Auburn's Community Little Theatre, where he directs some of their shows and has performed in scores of them over the past three decades.
He is currently the Executive Director at the Gendron Franco Center for Heritage and the Performing Arts, and also teaches courses in writing and the social sciences at Central Maine Community College.
Mitch lives in Durham, Maine, and is the proud father of two children, 16-year-old daughter, Hayden and 14-year-old son, Elias.
