Giving Tuesday: Give to help us save lives through storytelling

We’ve eaten all the turkey, shopped all the sales, now it’s time for a day to give to the charities that make a difference in your world.

This Is My Brave exists because through the sharing of our personal stories we can break down stigma and connect with one another. As Annie recently shared in her guest blog:

“This is My Brave” has become a beacon of hope to me. Reading other people’s stories empowered me and helped me not feel alone.”

— Annie, This Is My Brave guest blogger

Since our inaugural show in 2014, This Is My Brave has gone on to create 16 unique performances featuring over 243 individuals in cities across our country. We’ve led online campaigns such as #isharemystory and #FaceOfMentalIllness to promote healthy dialogue. Also opening up the conversation surrounding mental illness and mental health is our weekly Twitter chat – #BraveChat – during which we tackle a different topic each week and engage with our Twitter community.

For 2017, This Is My Brave has fourteen all-new shows in the works, as well as a special event – “Leading Ladies Live Brave – A Women’s Mental Health Summit” made possible through a grant from the hope & grace fund.

We are thrilled to announce that through the generosity of several donors, every donation today will be matched DOLLAR-for-DOLLAR up to $17,500!

Each and every gift is meaningful to our organization and helps us further our mission of ending the stigma surrounding mental illness through storytelling, one person, and one story at a time.

After you’ve donated, please print our #UNselfie template, and jot down why you support This Is My Brave. Take a selfie and share on social media, tagging us and using the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #UNselfie.
