What is Teen Mental Health Month?

Teen Mental Health Month

TMHM is one month dedicated to the mental health and well-being of teens and young adults. This campaign aims to provide information and resources that can help teenagers manage their mental health and seek help when needed.

Why should we prioritize Teen Mental Health?

Teen mental health and well-being is an urgent public health issue. Collaborative efforts and initiatives will provide better education, resources, and skills to equip young adults and instill systemic change.

Are you a teen or young adult who has lived experience with mental illness, substance use disorder or experienced stigma that has diminished your mental wellbeing? Are you ready to talk openly about that experience and advocate for more awareness about teen mental health? This Is My Brave is currently conducting a nationwide search for teens who are ready to guide the conversation about Teen Mental Health by serving on our Teen Advisory Board.

The Teen Advisory Board is open to high school students who: 

  • Have lived experience with mental health, substance use disorder, or stigma
  • Are ready to talk about their experiences and 
  • Want to help shape initiatives associated with This Is My Brave to raise awareness about teen mental health. 

There are additional mentor positions on the TAB for college students, or young adults (up to the age of 25). 

This Is My Brave’s Teen Advisory Board will:

  • Change the conversation about Teen Mental Health
  • Guide messaging for Teen Mental Health Month
  • Be the Change you wish to see in this world!

Commitment

Members of the Teen Advisory Board will meet virtually (on zoom or similar platform) 3 times between June 1 and August 31.
