This Is My Brave Announces Two New Board Members
LEESBURG, VA: This Is My Brave, the leading nonprofit organization using performing arts to end the stigma surrounding mental illness and addiction, is pleased to announce Adam Bromberg and Kristine Haataja as the organization’s newest Board members.
“I’m honored to welcome Adam and Kristine to our Board of Directors,” said Erin Gallagher, Interim Executive Director of This Is My Brave. I am especially proud of the history that these two individuals have with Brave. Kristine brings extensive Brave experience to her service on our Board. She is a two-time show producer and was recently the lead developer of a modular training system for new Brave producers. Adam is the father of one of our very first National Teen Show participants. Both members bring unique perspectives of the benefits of Brave programming as well as extensive professional experience that can help us grow strategically in the coming years.”
Adam Bromberg; Senior Vice President, CRC Advisors
Adam Bromberg is a Senior Vice President with CRC Advisors, a public affairs firm located in Alexandria, VA. Since joining the firm in 1998, he has supervised the development and implementation of communications strategies for a variety of Fortune 500 corporations, associations, and public policy groups.
Prior to joining CRC, Adam was the Communications Director of U.S. Term Limits, a national grassroots advocacy organization. In that position, he oversaw the organization’s entire national media strategy. As an organization spokesperson, he was a guest on dozens of talk radio programs throughout the nation and was quoted in many daily newspapers, including The Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times. His op-ed’s have been published in daily and weekly newspapers across the country.
Adam has served as a mentor in American University’s School of Public Affairs mentorship program. He has also been a guest lecturer at the Leadership Institute.
Adam grew up in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Binghamton University in 1993 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He and his wife live in Fairfax, VA and are the parents of two children, a daughter, who is a senior in high school and a son, who is in his third year of college.
Kristine Haataja; Consumer Insights & Strategy Consultant, Retired
Kristine Haataja retired in 2015 following over 35 years of experience as a Consumer Insights & Strategy Consultant for corporations and consulting firms. Her research in consumer attitudes and behavior has informed marketing decisions for many companies, including, Clorox, E&J Gallo, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, General Mills, and Del Monte Foods.
Kristine was appointed to the Napa County Mental Health Board in 2015, served as Vice-Chair from 2015-2017, Chair from 2017- 2019, and continues to sit on the Executive Committee. In 2019, she was elected to the Governing Board of the California Association of Local Behavioral Health Boards and Commissions and now serves as Secretary/Treasurer.
Kristine was Lead Producer of This Is My Brave – Napa Valley 2017, which drew an audience of approximately 350 and raised nearly $25,000 for mental health programs. In 2020 she was Lead Producer for This Is My Brave – Napa Valley 2020, featuring teens and young adults sharing stories of their mental health journey. Based on these experiences, Kristine led the development of This Is My Brave’s Brave Academy Producer Training in 2021.
