Brave Alumni Author Chat
Within our Brave family, many of our alumni storytellers are also published authors!
We know that reading and writing are powerful tools for recovery and for processing life in general. Our Wednesday #BraveDays series will feature candid conversations between Brave Alumni discussing their work, the writing process, and their journeys with This Is My Brave. Save your spot, and join us at 2pm ET | 1pm CT | 11am PT each week!
Information about today’s participating authors can be found below.
Wednesday May 12th will feature the following alumni authors:
- Charita Cole Brown (Baltimore 2018 Alum) – Author of Defying the Verdict: My Bipolar Life
- Elise Seyfried (Philadelphia 2018 Alum) – Author of four publications: Unhaling: On God, Grace and a Perfectly Imperfect Life; Underway: Reflections On Everyday Grace; Everyday Matters; and In Discovery: Thoughts on an Unfolding Life
- Nita Sweeney (Columbus 2019 Alum) – Author of Depression Hates a Moving Target: How Running With My Dog Brought Me Back From the Brink and co-author of You Should Be Writing: A Journal of Inspiration and Instruction to Keep Your Pen Moving

Crowdcast is a new, virtual streaming platform that This Is My Brave is now using for most of our virtual events! It is free to create an account, and you can see all of our events listed in one place. Don’t worry about the note that says “Grab your free trial.” No credit card information is required to sign on as an event attendee. Crowdcast also allows us to record, save, and replay all livestreams, so you can always go back and watch an event if you want a refresher!
